Who Needs God?
The answer to this question may depend mostly on our circumstances. Our lives have a way of revealing our need for something or someone greater than ourselves. Most of us have learned that religion doesn’t cut it, nor was it ever meant to. Our need is far too desperate to be satisfied by the ritual of religion alone; what we need is a relationship with a true and living God.
But let’s be real here, we're all pretty self-sufficient - or at least that is our illusion. When we do find ourselves lacking or even desperate, we find also that there are many options to dull or postpone our pain, and we drag our feet going to God, opting instead for the quick-fix. But there is a voice inside each of us that lovingly draws us in. It is a still, small voice, like a whisper:
“There is more to this life. I am the answer.”
It comes from deep within us and although we hear it, answering is often our last choice. Maybe we assume the caller has no patience left. Maybe we feel that we need to get our life right first. Maybe we've gone too far...but the voice keeps calling. The inner voice of a God who loves us.
Have you heard that voice? Then, what are you waiting for? Consider this: we fear what we want the most. Add to that equation the fact that we live during a time when there are more “solutions” to our pain available than any other generation. Perhaps you are not done trying everything this world has to offer. But consider Einstein’s definition of insanity: To do the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Can you relate?
Think about your life right now. How are you doing with the blessing called “life”? Are you deeply satisfied? Do you have deep inner peace? Do you feel blessed? Are you aware of your lifes' purpose? If not, then YOU need God in your life. Apart from Him, you will NEVER be satisfied, have peace, feel blessed, or know our purpose.
Life is hard; hard even with God, but it's impossible without Him. Invite God in through His provision made through His Son Jesus Christ, and you will gain not only in this life, but eternally as well. 1 John 5:12 states “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.”
Want New Life?
So, what should you do to answer the call; to receive this new life God promises?
1) Acknowledge that you are a sinner, that you have fallen short of God's standard. 2) Accept the provision made by Jesus Christ on the cross as payment for your sin 3) Invite Him in, that you may live a God-honoring, God-filled life.
Romans 3:10 says, "As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one." Romans 10:9 says, "if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. And in 1 John 1:9 it is confirmed: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
We hope you will accept His free gift today and find peace and purpose in your life. |
